In 2017 Adv. Maya Liquornik left Meitar, Liquornik, Geva, Leshem, Tal & Co Law Offices, one of Israel’s leading law firm, where she was senior partner and one of the firm’s executive managers since 1994. As a corporate lawyer for over thirty years, Maya worked with countless organizations including mega corporations both in Israel and globally and accumulated extensive experience in corporate law, securities law, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and in public offerings locally and abroad.
Today, Maya is the Chairwoman of NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System Ltd., a government owned company responsible for the design, construction and operation of a mass transit system for the Tel Aviv metropolis. NTA was founded for the purpose of providing appropriate solutions for the metropolis’ transit problems. NTA is leading a cultural-national revolution in the field of transportation through construction of the main public transportation system of the Gush Dan region. This mass transit system is the largest and most complex transportation project ever executed in Israel, and one of the largest of its kind in the world.
Maya is also the Chairwoman of MAX, an Israeli super brand in the field of credit and payments, holding more than two million active credit cards and providing clearing and processing services to more than 40 thousand businesses. MAX offers a wide range of financial services, including credit card issuance, benefits, clearing services, loans, credit solutions and advanced payment solutions. MAX is a wholly owned subsidiary of Call Insurance and Finance, one of Israeli’s largest financial institutions, and Maya is a member of its Board of Directors.
Finally, Maya is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Tel Aviv University School of Management.
Lital Slavin is the co-founder of BEYOND, which she started with the Liberman-Almagor family. Lital is also general partner in Adama Capital, a PE fund which provides funding to projects across the energy efficiency, renewable generation, waste, and water sectors. Prior to starting BEYOND, Lital established the Single Family Office for Shlomo Nehama and served there for three years. She was also Chief Operating Officer at Excaliber Capital Advisors, a Multi-Family Office, and served as controller for various start-up companies. Lital earned her EMBA at the Kellogg School of Management and her BA in Business Administration from IDC Herzliya.
Adv. Rani Haj-Yihie is a Partner at Gornitzky & Co. – one of Israel’s largest legal firms. Rani has been practicing law for over 20 years, leads large and complex global deals and specializes in corporate law, infrastructure, energy and project financing.
In parallel, since 2014 Rani serves as CEO of the Jordan Gateway Free Zone & Industrial Park, on behalf of the project’s entrepreneurs and investors. The Jordan Gateway Free Zone & Industrial Park, situated in the Jordan Valley between Israel and Jordan, is currently under development and is planned to include large technology based factories and provide thousands of work places for residents of the region. Rani is responsible for leading the project’s multi-national strategy as well as its daily management.
In addition, Rani served and serves as board member in a number of governmental and publicly traded corporations. He is currently board member of Cross-Israel Highway Ltd., the Carmel Tunnels, the Fast Lane and the Haifa–Nazareth railway. He is also a member of the board of IBI Investment House.
Rani is a social activist who has founded and supported the establishment of a number of organizations. He currently serves on the board of “Merhavim” organization and is a member of the audit committee of “Tsofen”. He is also involved in a number of initiatives for the integration of Arab citizens in the Israeli job market.
Tali Yaron-Eldar is a partner at Yaron-Eldar, Paller, Schwartz & Co. Law Offices (YETAX) specializing in taxation law. Between the years 2002-2004 Tali served as Income Tax Commissioner, was partner at Tadmor & Co., and between the years 2004-2007 serves as General Manager of Arazim Investments Ltd. – a real estate investment company specializing in Income producing assets. Tali serves as board member in a number of corporations including Arco, Medtechnica, Navitas, and others, and is the legal advisor for the Forum of CFOs. She holds an LL.B and an MBA with a major in Finance, both from Tel Aviv University.
Amir Halevy is a founding partner at the law firm of Gross & Co. (GKH)
Amir Halevy has extensive experience in the fields of technology and venture capital, representing numerous Israeli startups, enterprises and venture capital funds.
Amir also counsels family held enterprises with regard to the day to day operation of their businesses and the transfer of control from one generation to the next. He advises individuals of high net worth regarding their estates, trusts and succession planning.
Amir serves as a member on the Advisory Committee to The Raya Strauss Center for Family Business Research at the Koler Business School, Tel Aviv University; Chairman of the Israeli Council for Voluntarism; Member of the Executive Committee and the Legal Committee of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC); Chair of the Audit Committee – Tel Aviv-Jaffa Academic College; Chair of the audit committee – Taub Center for Social Policies Studies in Israel and much more.
He lectures on topics related to Family Businesses as part of the “Lahav” program at the Koler School of Business at Tel-Aviv University and in the past at the Executive Training Program at the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, he also lectures on topics related to high tech and foreign public offerings at the MBA program of the Hebrew University and in the past at the Technicon Industrial Engineering Department.
PHILIPPE J. WEIL, an established Swiss banker, is the founder of P.J.Weil Ltd. a Family Wealth Advisory Boutique, offering a holistic service in various aspects. For the last 25 years he is the “Personne de Confiance” for a few selected Global Families of Wealth.
Philippe serves as Board Member and Trustee in various Family Enterprises and is Co-Chair of a global Family Office Think Tank. He is a speaker at international conferences and universities in Europe, the United States and India, and regularly publishes articles. His book: “Woes of the Rich“ was published in English and Hebrew, and will be published in German.
Philippe contributes and participates in various activities in Education, Healthcare, Shared Society, Art, and Culture as representative of his own Family Foundation and of his clients Foundations. He is an active Board Member and Advisor to a few national and international non-profits.
The Weil Family has contributed widely to Israel over generations thru its involvement with Youth at Risk, Social Health Care, and the Arts.
Director General of Israel’s Finance Ministry between the years 2007 and 2010. Among the leaders of the Israeli economy during the 2008 global crisis, a period which the country surpassed with impressive success, and was responsible for directing and implementing the government’s economic policy before and during the crisis. Mr. Ariav headed the Steering Committee for Israel’s inclusion in the OECD, and was a central figure in the implementation of prominent economic and social reforms.
Prior to working for the government Mr. Ariav served as General Manager of ICL Fertilizers – a complex industrial concern of hundreds of millions of Euros. In this capacity he managed the concern’s overall manufacturing and marketing operations in Europe. Prior to that Ariav filled a variety of positions in Israel Chemicals Ltd. (ICL), including as ICL’s representative in South America, Director at SQM in Chile, VP Marketing at Rotem Amfert Negev Ltd., and Senior VP Marketing at ICL Fertilizers.
Between 1985 and 1993 Ariav served as Deputy Director of the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance, where he was responsible for the budgets of the financial ministries of the government. In this position he took a central role in governmental policy setting including research and development incentives and the establishment of “Yozma Co” for leading reforms in import, energy, agriculture and more.
Mr. Ariav serves as chairman of the Executive Committee of Ben Gurion University, chairman of Lod Foundation and board member of ‘Latet’ national food bank. From 2022 he serves as chair of the investment committee of Israel sovereign fund.
Mr. Ariav holds an M.A (cum laude) in Economics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Scott Tobin has spent much of his career at Battery Ventures, the firm he joined first in Boston more than 20 years ago. As the leader of its international expansion, Tobin started Battery’s Israel office in 2008. His exits over the years include Akamai, which went public in 1999, the London Financial Futures and Options Exchange, which was acquired by Euronext for nearly $800 million in 2001, as well as ITA Software (acquired by Google) and Anobit Technologies (acquired by Apple). In 2018, Tobin invested in PayPal veteran Max Levchin’s payments company Affirm, as well as CRB Group, which operates online lending marketplace Cross River Bank.
Dror Nagel is Chairman of the Investment Committee of Makefet Pension Funds & Provident Funds Ltd.
Mr. Nagel also serves as an External Director at Tadea and as a Director at Gabay Properties and Development Ltd.
Dror has previously served as Chairman of Arno Capital Investments, as CEO of real estate company Azorim, and as CEO of Phoenix Investments and Finance. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Menora Mivtachim Mutual Funds Ltd, as a member of the Investment Committee at Ayalon Insurance Company Ltd., and as Chairman of the Mutual Funds Association.
Dror has a master’s degree in business management (MBA), majoring in finance and banking, and a BA in Economics, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Dorit Selinger served as Head of the Capital Market, Insurance and Savings Authority where she was responsible for the activities of insurance companies and, pension and provident funds and advanced study funds. She also supervised the institutional investments portfolio and served as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Supervisor of Banks.
Dorit led various reforms designed to secure the interests of savers and policyholders, including select pension funds, the pension clearing house, “Har HaBituah” (the national insurance depository), and more.
Prior to joining government, Dorit served as a financial advisor to corporations and infrastructure projects and was a member of the Credit Committee of the Amitim Pension Fund and director of various companies. She had formerly served as CEO of leading credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s Maalot and evaluated the debt of hundreds of companies operating in diverse fields.
Dorit is currently involved in a financial venture start-up; she is an External Director at Strauss Group and at Arko Holdings, she is a member of the Israeli Forum for Impact Economy (IFIE), a board member of the Friends of Tel Aviv University, and a member of the executive committee of the social venture Insights in Education.
The owner of Zetta Solutions Ltd., a company advising dozens of high-net-worth families.
Alon has an extensive background in the capital market. He managed the wealth management system at Tmura Pension and Insurance, a subsidiary of Clal Insurance.
He founded and established algo-trading in overseas markets using automated execution of mathematical and statistical arbitrage in the local Maof market and managed the Financial Derivatives Department at “Peilim”, Bank Hapoalim’s investment portfolio management company.
Prof. Orgler is Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Business Management at Tel Aviv University.
Prof. Orgler has, among many others positions, served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, as External Director of public companies such as ICL – Israel Chemicals Ltd., Bank Hapoalim and Gazit Globe. He has also always engaged – in the past and to this day – in public activity.
Prof. Orgler serves as Chairman of the Israel Cancer Association’s Audit Committee and as a board member of “Secure Future” – an association taking action to prevent violence against children and youth. He is also a member of the Appointments Committee and the Finance Committee of the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yafo and a Director of Atidim, the high-tech industries’ company under the auspices of Tel Aviv University.
Yair has a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technion, an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Prof. Zuta’s specialty is finance.
Over the past 15 years Prof. Zuta has served on the boards and investment committees of various public and government-owned companies, and as Chairman of Amitim, the Administration of Veteran Pension Funds, for which a special administrator has been appointed.
Shlomit is a researcher and lectures in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in finance at the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yafo where her main specialties are corporate governance and climatic investments.
Prof. Zuta completed her doctorate in Finance at New York University (NYU) and is a member of the leadership team of the NYU Alumni Club in Israel. She also holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Operations Research from Tel Aviv University.
Yuval Dror is a Manager, Scholar and Consultant to senior management in organizational and business development and change. Over more than 40 years Yuval has been holding roles and posts as OD consultant in the IDF, a partner in a consulting firm, an external director, a researcher and a lecturer.
Yuval was award a Doctorate of Business Administration, in the University of South Australia and Swiss Business School (SBS). He holds an MA degree in Social Psychology from Tel Aviv University (1985).
Dr. Yuval Dror is founder of the Master Degree Program in Organizational Consulting in the Recanati Business School in Tel Aviv University and until recently was its director. He was also a co-founder of ‘Minga’ – a social business dedicated to developing social entrepreneurship in Israel.
Yuval’s main interests are applying Chaos and Complexity theories into human organizing, consulting to organizations in Development and Change process and helping promote ethics and Social Accountability, and volunteering to sustain and empower the civil society.
Founder and Senior Partner at Ophir Katz & Co., among the first law firms in the country to specialize in advising and providing legal services to non-profit organizations (NPOs), including public institutions, academic institutes, associations, community interest companies (CICs), endowments, statutory corporations and non-profit corporations registered abroad and operating in Israel.
Alongside legal advice to his firm’s clients, Adv. Katz has served as lecturer of an obligatory course on Management of Public Institutions and NPOs in the MA program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has written numerous articles and the book “The Associations Law in Theory and in Practice”.
Ophir regularly participates in all of Israel’s leading professional committees and forums (academic and other) with an interest in NPO law in general and associations in particular. He is also personally active in various organizations for social change.
Ophir holds a law degree (LL.B.) from the Faculty of Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Maya comes to Keshet with 25 years of experience in developing the philanthropic sector in Israel, which includes working with dozens of high net worth families and philanthropic institutions on their giving journey in Israel.
After establishing JFN-Israel in 2008 and growing it to be an integral part of the Jewish Funders Network and of the Jewish philanthropic ecosystem, Maya founded and is heading Israel’s first donor-advised fund, Keshet. She brings to both positions her entrepreneurial and management acumen, as well as extensive knowledge of philanthropy, business and Jewish community in Israel, US and the UK.
Earlier in her career, Maya held a number of positions at the Jewish Agency, including management of the Israel Experience Unit, thought partner in the establishment of Masa, and board member of Taglit. Prior to that, Maya was the Schlicha to the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and director of programs at UJIA in London.
Maya received an MBA from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya.
Maya lives in Moshav Olesh where she and husband Ido are parents to Alon, Gali, Shani and Ella.
Lia Kazaz is a grants coordinator at Keshet. Lia has 5 years of experience in operations and accounting positions in philanthropic foundations in Israel and Jewish federations from North America. Prior, Lia was engaged in the field of research in Israel and worked on policy studies on social-applied issues and independent social research. She graduated with a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Tel Aviv University, and a bachelor’s degree (BA) in psychology, sociology, and anthropology from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Eliana has over 20 years of experience in the finance field working in a wide range of organizations, from the high-tech sector through government agencies,impact investment and private philanthropic foundations (Clinton Foundation). Her most recent position was as CFO at the Desert Stars Foundation. Eliana received her graduate degree in international economics at SAIS, Johns Hopkins, has lived in Israel, Brazil and the US and is fluent in Hebrew, English and Portuguese . She lives in Modi’in where she and her husband Boaz are parents to Talia, Alon and Noam.
Jennifer is the Director of Grantmaking at Keshet. Previously, Jennifer was a partnerships development manager at the Rashi Foundation, overseeing partnerships with philanthropic foundations from Israel and abroad, and with Jewish federations from North America. Jennifer spent 10 years at Tel Aviv University’s Porter School of Environmental Studies, where she established and directed their international master’s degree program. She holds an MSc in environmental science from Pace University and is a certified yoga teacher. Jennifer made aliyah from New York 16 years ago and lives in Modi’in with her husband Yossi and their three children.
Shira is a bachelor’s degree student in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Open University, majoring in Operations and Production.
She is a volunteer in the “Tene Yerushalmi” organization, and is a graduate of their pre-military preparatory gap-year program.
In the army Shira served as a combat commander in the “Bardelas” regiment where she acquired human relations, management and supervision skills.
Shira plays competitive volleyball and lives in Jaffa.
